Thank you, Chuck!

Hi Mike, and Thank you!

Now all you need to do is build another and bolt it on to the back of this one. You could then call it "Alf Alfa"
Good one. As in to feed its "Horse" power?

Ron I just got back online here after a long absence, and so happy to see your engine running as the first thing I checked on the forum. Looks great, sounds great, and you've done a really fine job building it. Fine thing to see an engine emerge from concept drawing to a real live machine!

Thank you so much, Steve! It wouldn't look nearly as good without that cam cover you did!

Thank you very much, Achim.

Coming back here reminded me that I never did really post any close-out-the-build-log shots. Here are a few.

Ron

This brings back fond memories of my 1969 1750 GTV :-) My first new car, bought at end of 1969. Still on the orad somewhere north of Toronto.

Great job on capturing the essence of the engine.

Thank you, Gerrit!

Being Canadian spec, Did your 1750 have Webers rather than the SPICA FI we got in '69? My brother drove a '67 GT Jr. for many years. Smaller 1300cc engine but same body style as yours. Still one of the most pleasingly shaped coupes ever.

Ron

I had fallen in love with the sound of Weber 45DCOE on my brother's 1960 Mini Cooper and then later on my 1961 Bugeye Sprite.
I was fortunate to have the DCOE webers again on the Alfa, Spica came to Canadian Alfa's in 1970. Not a pleasant exprience apparently. Alfa had/has the best gearbox shift in my experience driving standard transmissions. I still miss that car.

And of course Bertone's design ethic was awesome, so much so that in 2001 I bought a 1976 Ferrari 308GT4. An underappreciated car that was fabulous on the track. And of course 4 DCNF40 Weber downdraft carbs for music :-)

That Dino sounds fun (as long as there are no repair bills $$!!). I miss my old Alfa too, a clapped-out  '66 Spyder. At least my current '67 VW has dual 40IDFs, along with a few other "enhancements".

Ron
