Made a new saw arbor for the 917 project..Who needs a reamer when you have a tight lathe and a razor sharp boring bar.

Sweet little arbor!  And a nice looking little saw - where does that one come from? Most I see are much larger diameter.

Really nicely made - in your first picture you can't tell that it is an insert going into the holder, the fit is so good. Looks like a rod with a turned down diameter one end.

Forging ahead regardless.

Nice arbor Dave.  That's a tinny little slitting saw!

The tormach is pretty gutless at low speed, so carbide blades, and 1100 rpm and the guts to hit cycle start....lol

The video shows the shank of a 3/8 end mill, which fits the saw dead on, bouncing up and down in the bore...you can hold it down for a full minute and it will pop back up to the same spot.  Very satisfying!....

At the last thou, I took 5 passes taking .0002" per pass, easy as you please,  dead straight 2.5" deep.   That old girl is still dead on 10 years after the rebuild.
