Small Spanners (Wrenches)
« on: August 04, 2021, 06:51:11 PM »
I tend to work with quite small things and have found suitable size spanners difficult to find. I have a selection from various suppliers (OK I am a spanner addict  ::) ) Following comments on here I had a look at Knupfer in Germany who offer some nice laser cut small spanners. I ordered the 2, 3 and 4mm sizes. They look good  :)

Best regards

Roger

Nice wrenches - they are hard to find in the small sizes that dont have very bulky ends. For inch sizes I've found ones by Snap-On are good.

P.S. I couldn't find the spanner page on that website (it was not in English).

Enjoyment is more important than achievement.

Knupfer WEB site is multi-lingual :happyreader:  & pretty easy to navigate

If you wanted an open ended spanner, just ask  :wine1: .........great people, great product & they don't try & charge the German 19% domestic tax on exported orders

Jo, you should be able to right click the Web page and get the option to translate page to English, then look for Fork Wrenches.

Roger, many thanks.

I need a set of good small metric spanners which I have just ordered from them. This is my first purchase from the EU this year.

Their web site, which looks very interesting, is in Germany, and I could not get a translation at all. Ordering and paying was easy. For the latter one can use the guest option in PayPal.

I have just received their emailed receipt.

Another option is Moody tools, e.g....

I have an older set of these, was never very impressed with them, very soft metal. It now says the tips are chrome vanadium, maybe they have improved them?

Chris, the Moody tools are good steel and hardened these days. I have broken one or two that I have ground down to fit small places. I buy the replacement blades only as a handle is usually not needed and they are much cheaper that way, so I do not feel bad about grinding and breaking a wrench.

Sounds great, thanks!  The ones I have are probably a few decades old.
