Thanks for the kind words! Really must JB Weld that casting flaw in the cylinder water jacket, didn’t realise how bad it looks!

This is the starter gearbox I am intending for the Seagull. It will drive on the timing end of the crankshaft. The pink output gear is fixed to the black cup that carries the red outer race of the sprag clutch. The inner race is keyed to the output shaft, and these are the only bits that revolve when the engine is running

That looks nice! I was wondering how you had it set up, might have to revisit mine to see if I can fit a one way bearing to the flywheel.

Hi Mike, Admiral,
Yes I’m calling it a success , now to tidy it all up as it looks very messy in the vid. Work out a few details and get the boat finished , eager to see how/if it starts in the water. Going to use quite a small prop as I’m not after speed, think that should make it easier to start in the water . Also it’s driving a lay shaft under the motor that is geared down too.
