Hello:

I've recently finished Ian Bradley's Heinrici Stirling Engine. I'm in between projects now and thought it would be nice to see what others are doing.

Sorry, but I'm have trouble figuring out how to insert a picture. When I click on the "Insert Picture" icon all I get is text. Copy Paste doesn't seem to work for me either. Any tips?

Welcome to the Forum

To attach pictures look slightly below the text box, there is 'Attachments and other options' which allows you to attach pictures up to a certain size. For videos I upload them to YouTube and then insert the link into the text.
Best regards

Roger

Yes, as Roger said, you can use the "attach" feature to attach a few pictures.  This will upload your images to the host and add them at the end of your post.

The "Insert Image" icon is for adding images inline.  To take advantage of this, you have to have your pictures hosted somewhere else.  If you click on the icon, it just adds a set of image tags.  The idea is you would embed the link to your self-hosted picture in those tags.  The tags are "[ img] [ /img]"  (without the spaces).  Anyway, if your image is located at "https:/photobucket/something/myenginepic.jpg" then you'd put that between the tags like so:

[ img]https:/photobucket/something/myenginepic.jpg[/ img]

Again, without the spaces.  And you can use the "Preview" option to see if the link worked.

Good luck,
Kim
