2nd generation Otto & Langen
« on: June 25, 2021, 08:34:47 PM »
This is a model of a 2 HP 2nd generation Otto & Langen atmospheric internal combustion engine built by Gosmotoren-Fabrik Deutz in the late 1860’s or early 1870’s.  The model is built at a little over 1/5th scale.

Wow!  That's just fantastic, Craig!  It's mesmerizing to watch.  And the action seems so smooth.

Well done!

Running very nicely and with a good period of time between each firing.

A nice and fitting Crowning on a great build serie  :praise2:

Like others have mentioned - I can't remember seeing any model engine run smoother or more constant - so it's safe to say that you got those Otto & Langen engines nailed to a T

That is one beautiful piece of work Craig and one day when I get my head back to metal and off the brown stuff I want to tackle this engine. Nice runner and awesome fit and finish to be proud of.

Thanks for the complements folks; I really appreciate them.  This was an enjoyable build I’m gratified you enjoyed seeing it come together, so did I.

Regarding the next build Chris…, I have an idea or two but I haven’t committed to anything as of yet.  It probably won’t be another Otto &Lsngen.
