I am very impressed, but can't help wondering if you are happy with the modifications you made to the govenor George ...?

The governor works as intended although trying to maintain scale speeds is not realistic. When you see the engine speeded up it's running on the governor. If the scale was bigger then the ratio between the gears could be increased giving more governor speed. With this scale the small gear has 14 teeth which is as small as I could go to make the center to center dimensions work out. Had I not already machined the location for the governor in the entablature I could have played around with the numbers to get a a greater ratio and then machined the pocket.

I really enjoyed watching that - it's a super engine and runs so smoothly. Just very enjoyable to watch.

I did notice that it worked - it was more a question about you being satisfied with the RPM it works at and I think that you kind of indirectly answered that, just now

It is kind of a natural law, that the smaller an engine or for that matter a model aeroplane gets, the faster they need to go, in order to overcome friction, airflow / lift / control or what the limiting factor is in that particular type of model ....
All this still means that there is yet another good reason why I'm impressed with this build.

Hi George, pure pleasure to watch the motion of the engine running with very low revs.

Kind Regards

Beautiful job George.
Craig
The destination motivates us toward excellence, the journey entertains us, and along the way we meet so many interesting people.
