3D printed air compressed V8
« on: May 07, 2021, 09:51:15 PM »
Hello everybody,

Not a kit, not a casting, not my design, i chose to post here the making of this "plastic toy" that runs and sings a nice song.
Below, the link to upload for free the printable files and make your own engine, according to your wishes : V-twin, V4, V8, V-any-number-you-want :

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3663029

I printed first the V-twin version as a first attempt (see the blue one in the "make" section).

Since it runs quite well, i decided to print the V8.
But i worked a lot on this project. Re-created the whole engine on my own CAD to be able to make deep modifications on the heads + other details. The goal to hit : a better look and a smoother work.
Both heads are new, exhaust pipes on the sides, center intake manifold out of brass & alu. All pistons slide now through steel teflon coated rings (low cost bushing for shafts) and the engine sits on a suspended eight feet chassis.

Thanks to Yuris, the prime designer, for this clever concept, simple and free.
