MODS TO MY DRILL PRESS
« on: February 09, 2021, 08:52:57 PM »
I did some update mods to my refurbished drill press. The first update was to get rid of the quill lock which was a screw with slot and nut to lock and adjust the play in the quill. I need to operate hands free so installed a foot switch. I bought a mortising attachment but it didn"t fit my quill so had to make an adapter. I Have many bits to use for wood working with the drill press and organize them in one place i made a bit box to fit the column with latch and hinged door. Bit trays were made to tilt to retrieve bits. this drill press will be used mostly for wood working since i have a mill for metal working already. I hope some find this post useful for their needs also.

Regards Don

A nice assortment of things to make a drill press more useful.

Thank You for posting.

A drill press may be humble, but I count myself among those who find it a very useful thing to have in a shop used for a wide variety of tasks.
