Hello . I normally rebuild classic bikes but in this time i'm looking to start something new . I have purchased a Karl hit and miss kit . All the materials needed and the drawings but the turning etc left to do . Just doing the homework until it arrives .

Hi there,
Several members here are also into motorcycles, though I don't happen to be one of them.

Welcome to the forum, I am a classic bike owner as well as other things.

Is that a Rocket Gold Star on your profile photo ?
I restored one of those many years ago.

Phil

On having a better look I would now say it is an Eddie Dow DBD34 Gold Star, I still have my 1950 350 Goldie.

Your not far off but its a 1955 bsa DB 500 originally a U.S. export bike to hap alzima I believe they called them Catalina's . I have this and a B44 , A G9 Matchless and an 1951 Ariel square 4 . At the moment but im going to thin them out a bit , eventually , . The gold star will be staying though . I also own a special Ducati 999R taking up room in my garage .

There was a nice Catalina at our local bike show in Skipton a couple of years ago.
I had not seen one before this, so it must be pretty unusual in the UK.
