Cotswold Heritage Isis
« on: July 21, 2012, 03:42:39 AM »
Here's another "built from a kit" engine, the Cotswold Heritage Isis http://www.modelsteamenginesuk.com/acatalog/Isis_Machined_Kit_Model_Steam_Engine.html

It's a a nice model, but has a bit of a "pre-fab" feel to the castings, like the connecting rod. The connecting rod was a bit loose on the crank pin, so I made a new one, as described in the video.

If I were to build this again, I'd avoid using the supplied silicone sealant rather than gaskets.
