Hi thanks for adding me to your site lots of great stuff on here found you trying to research and old Hemmingway Seal engine which I believe is from late 50's or 60's I came across in a loft.  Looking to find out more about it.

Thanks again for the add

Hi,  Someone here will know which issues of the Model Engineer magazine covered the build of this.  You'll know a lot more if you track down those and have a good read.  Lovely engine to own!

Welcome to the forum.
I believe the Seal series in the Model Engineer start in 1947 Vol96 issue 2389 and was published every other issue until vol 97 issue 2416. Try Tee publishing for back issues.
Hope this is of help.

Hemingway Kits sell the full set of drawings and construction notes for £28. It looks like this is the full set of Model Engineer articles. The link is http://www.hemingwaykits.com/acatalog/The_Seal___Edgar_T_Westbury.html

Where would be the best place to post some photos of the engine for further advice and guidance

Welcome to the forum!

As to where to post - there's a few places that could be used:

If you're just  posting a few questions about a specific engine, there's a Help section 4-5 sections down with the first sub-forum called "Specific Engine Help".

If you're interested in posting several updates on your build, along with your questions, then using the "Engines" section, probably the "From Kits/Castings" would be appropriate.  Unless its not from castings, then maybe "From Plans" would be a better choice.

And welcome!
Kim

Welcome to the forum.

I'm very much a beginner. Joined the forum a couple of years ago and the friendly support and advice from the people here - many of whom are expert model engineers - have enabled me to work through projects that I otherwise wouldn't have been able to. You'll find it to be a friendly community and an amazing resource.
