Tried deltatango's solution (see reply No. 7) and this restored all the videos when viewing MEM on my PC (whether permanently or not I don't know yet), but still can't sort out the problem on my tablet. I am using Firefox and Google on both, but do not get the same yellow triangle. The only difference I can see is that my PC runs Windows 10, whereas my tablet is Android.
Has anyone come up with a solution for us tablet users yet?

Just answered my own question. It appears that you need to click on the yellow triangle and disable protection every time that you visit the MEM site in order to see the videos. I can't see any way at the moment of saving it as a permanent setting.

My PC still runs Win XP and it does not give the yellow triangle. Neither does my Android.

So, no videos for me, until they fix this website.

I suspect this issue might be related to the fact that Adobe Flash has finally been killed off; although don't quote me on that.

I've now sorted the https configuration out for the site, which unfortunately has not fixed the issue of the missing videos. I've tried this in Opera on Windows 10 & Linux; and in MS Edge (also Windows 10).

In Opera, I notice I get a "Content blocked" notice in my URL bar (see pic 1). If I click this, I get the message shown in pic 2. If I click "unblock" on that page, then the videos appear.

I can't see any kind of notification in MS Edge, it just blocks the content & that's that.

I haven't tried any other browsers, as I don't have any installed here....

I'll carry on looking for a better solution, but I have a horrible suspicion there won't be one :(
Cheers,
Ade

The correct solution is to 'fix' all the links on the MEM server (switch http:// to https://), anything you do in your browser/tablet/pc is a temporary workaround.

You're quite correct to point out that "https" links should be everywhere (and they are, now, so the padlock should be correctly visible at the top of this page). However, the links that aren't working, both to imagur and youtube, are also https links - but they're being blocked.

I'm going to start hunting on the SMF site (the software we host with), because there's no way this is only affecting us.

Test, please ignore (unless you can see the video!)

I think I've fixed all (or most) of the Youtube ones; the image ones I'll have to revisit tomorrow, I've run out of time tonight.

Ade,

Many, but not all, of the videos are now showing this end.

:Director: :Director: Well done to have identified the problem so quickly. I am sure you will have it all sorted before long.   :Director: :Director:

Thanks

Mike

Yes, with whatever changes you just made, I can now see many of the videos that weren't showing up just a few minutes ago.

Thanks Ade!

I'm sure there are still more issues creeping around too.

Does that mean we have to include https in our links to our externally hosted photos too?  Does the Lister Coppermine support https?

That was almost to be expected .... Since you have access to the Source-Code - it should be 'a simple search and replace' .... that is until a certain Mr. Murphy stick his ugly mug through the backdoor .... and proves another one off his 45 laws :

The moment you fix one problem it creates two new ones ....  :killcomputer:

Nonetheless - thank you for your efforts - and I'm fully aware of the fact the Jo is one of those who really make an effort to run this place along with a number of other important and nice people around here ...!

Hi Ade, your test video on chucky and one I could not see yesterday have now appeared on my iPad which had the latest version upgrade only last week if that is a factor.  Not an exhaustive search, but I presume others have also reappeared.

Thanks again for all the effort you and the other admins put into this site.  It’s very much appreciated.

A line we used to be fond of at that w*rk place was 'We made it fool-proof, but they keep coming out with better fools!'

Videos are back for my posts too - thanks again Ade! Take 1000 cookies out of petty cash!
