Mike

What engine was fitted in the M5 Stuart, please?

AVTUR

I can see you are getting impatient for me to start the M5 Stuart thread.

As an appetizer, the M3 Stuart was powered by an 7-cylinder Continental W-670 air cooled aircraft radial engine (big clue there). To relieve wartime demand for the radial aero-engines later versions of the M5 used twin Cadillac V8 automobile engines.

The British firm Armortek   https://www.armortek.co.uk/       make a wide range of heavy metal kits, unfortunately there is often a long waiting list for their kits.

I have their late variant Tiger 1.

It took me two years to assemble it as I upgraded many parts to make them look like the real thing.  Enjoyed every minute.  Learned many new skills in the process and that is the reason I will follow your thread.

This is going to be one interesting thread to follow Mike, I will maybe/probably not comment, but be assured I will be following along!
Chris

It's not always possible to find the time to comment or find something to say. A simple 'thumbs up'  is enough to let the poster know there is someone on the other end.

Mike

Lots of times I would love to comment on someone's work and I just don't know what to say, so I end up doing nothing. I guess the thumbs up is better than nothing.
Not always easy for me to put my thought into words.

Honestly, those of us who are newer / less experienced at this hobby, with perhaps less intricate and interesting projects and engines, appreciate just knowing that there are people looking if from time to time. A simple thumbs up or something is a bit of a boost in some ways. Doesn't need to be on a constant basis obviously, but I feel that will help keep the interest up in all posting levels of the forum, so to speak.
Stuart

Forging ahead regardless.
