My belgian home shop

In my 'introduce yourself' post David (deltatango) asked me to show my shop. I am cleaning up so I can take some decent pictures. The shop is 6mx12m (20ftx40ft aprox) and has LED lighting. My machines run on 3x380V. It has a basement and attic (storage). It is divided into a woodshop and a metal shop (60/40). The woodshop part is bigger because I use it to make funiture, doors, windows etc and this kind of projects asks for more space.
I will post some pictures as I clean it up.

I can't see you get much use out of the old crane / hoist .... has a door been bricked up under it, or ....

At this moment there is a double door in it and the beam for the hoist is retractable.

Welcome Pieter! shop looks great. The dark flooring material - are they slates or ceramic tiles? They look nice. I like the clean up / refinish you did on the drill press. If you come to Canada you could drop by and polish the aluminum on a few of my machines!

I am sure a few people will be thinking the same..........Your workshop is bigger than my house 
You look to have plenty of space in there and I am very envious, I probably have way more equipment, but it is all crammed into a 16' x 12' shed at the bottom of the garden.

Its all relative..........My shed is home to 4 lathes, 2 milling machines, 2 drilling machines, 1 shaper, 1 gear hobber plus all the tooling that goes with them and all the other model engineering stuff like sets of castings and a hoard of materials etc. Bench space is at a premium I can tell you.
I have had to overflow into the garage in order to house a muffle furnace, a tool and cutter grinder, a pantograph engraver, welding bottles etc, all sharing space with a couple of motorbikes and spare engines and gearboxes for my Morris Traveller which unfortunately has to live outside under a car port.

It is very true that we can never have enough space, I know for sure that if I had twice as much space available, it would be just as full as it is now

Well what can I say - after seeing more pictures I love it even more 
And like the majority of the rest of us around here - I would love to have this amount of space and tools 

Is that a Yamaha Crosser / Enduro Bike on the lift ?

Pieter, I know I asked for it but I now have a severe case of workshop envy!

That is a magnificent building and well equipped for building the big Corliss, there is also plenty of space to display the final product. I'm looking forward to following the build.

Indeed, it is the Yamaha DT50 RSM from my son.we bought it second had but the electrics where very bad (actualy completly gone) so we are rewiring the complete bike from scratch.

The dark tiles are slates (the previous owner put them in) but I prefer polished concrete because it is easyer to clean.

The polished aluminum came out great, but it took some work. Originaly there was a few mm of body filler and paint on it so beadblasting, some sanding and 2 hours of polishing.....
