Just find out a easy way to find the right spot then finning the heads.
Put a blade messure between the carrige and the stop and take it away and move the carrige against the stop. Fast and easy.

Really nice work Ove, and some great motivation for me

I'm still hopeful of finding a gunsmith to blue my cylinders. They use a chemical process that is different to the dye. It's not so easy to find gunsmiths where I live.

Any thoughts on what size spark plugs you will use?

Steve

Hi Steve
Dont you mean this?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Perma-Blue-3-OZ-13125-Liquid-Gun-Barrel-Bluing-Birchwood-Casey-Tool-Blueing-/141316556655?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20e71f876f
I bought 3 bottles and going to try it.
I will use CM-6 plugs like I have on my other engines. But I suppose I dont need them
for a long time yet

Ove, my understanding is that there is a  somewhat noxious chemical process that involves dipping the parts in a heated concoction. The dye is for touching up guns that get scratched etc. So I want to get the full chemical job done

I want to make my own spark plugs but are having trouble getting my hands on the required corian. I think a 5/16 (8mm) thread would be ideal

Oh yes Roger and its hard to make all pices exactly same looking then there are so many.
It is very easy to make a little mistake somtimes ´when you are in the middle of all repeating turning and I have certainly done them
but not so bad that you can see them on the photos I hope. ;)

Looking great Ove!

The finning of all those valve towers is a tough and long job

HI Vince! The weather here in sweden now is awful you know so you cant do anything other than machining engines in the evenings
Steve I have to agree with you about that finning. Thats a bloody pain and its over now ;D
I am now working on the last top finns and that last milling.
As you see in my pics I have not bored for the valves. I will make valvecages in one piece of brass and bore from inside hold in a collet on the tower.
I only finned the towers 1.6mm deep to have plenty of meat to bore for the valvecages.
Have a nice weekend all of you!
Ove

I taked the decision to start all the tapping on the crankcase now then the  most of the work on the heads are done.
It is a a hard work with out  1.2.3 taps and only a finishing tap on 2.5mm.
1 turn and its time to rinse it😩
So tonight I take the case up and tap some holes take a beer eat. Tap some holes watch tv tap some holes...
