Even after it was done I still didn't know what it was.

Maybe a part for a rotary engine? It looks like the center section was cut into 3 lobes.(?)

I suspect it's just as Ove said, a demonstration piece.  Still it was mesmerizing seeing the machine doing all those ops.

Wow,

I want one!

I guess if you have to ask how much, you can't afford it. So how much for the whole 9 yards including tooling?

Best Regards
Bob

My whole investment in tools and equipment wouldn't even put a dent in the tooling cost for that machine.  Very very cool to watch though!!

The CAM software is pretty high-tech to do that too.

'cept it's a DMG, Deckel Maho Gildemeister.  Serious machinery manufacturer, based (surprise!!) in Germany.  It's the DMG version (most of the major machinery makers have something similar in their range) of a lathe with a very substantial milling capability, and a second spindle, so it can finish a part in one go.

Some 10 years ago, I was responsible for buying a Mazak Integrex, for the company I worked for.  An Integrex is a similar machine to the one in the video, except "ours" was a lot smaller, 200mm chucks if I remember.
Again from memory, with a whole load of options , like large tool magazine, bar feeder, etc etc, the bill came to something like AU$450,000.  The machine paid for itself within the first couple of years.
cheers
