Willy - don't worry I'm still mucking about with the valve cover and there are of course a myriad of other bits to make so absolutely no hurry!

the conrod taking shape, i am using 12BA rather than 14 BA at the moment but will endeavour to sauce some soon . It shows up all the file marks when expanded and also some bits are a bit wonky.so more dead smooth filling and 1200 grit work required !!

The crankshaft is tackled next,as the crank and eccentric are 90 degrees apart, provision has to be made to achieve this. I have used the digital angle finder connect to the outer end of the 5/16 extra long shaft. this in turn is held in a quick change toolholder. the < finder is set to zero degrees for the first cut, then rotated for the next cut.....vis

Yup and it is only .1 degree out.......Thats the Willy valve gear for you. What did we do without all these digital items years ago, apart from not knowing exactly how far the dimensions were out ?? !!

Hugh if you look at the pictures of the Digital Level you will see that when it has been turned it is actually 90.1 degrees !! Thanks for the interest and there is lots of work still to do, But as the clocks have now gone back i can spend more time in the workshop !!

I am now tiding up the parts....I have cut the keyways and fied out the crank eccentric govenor and flywheel slots. I am using tufnol on the flywheel as it takes no load. I will also put on a wheel of some sort outside the flywheel bearing to keep the crankshaft positioned correctly. I have also filed out the bottom of the bearing blocks,as in full size practice so as to make adjustments easier with less work.

Willy, you can upload it to YouTube or photobucket by opening an account with them it's free. After you upload it you will be able to post a link to the video. When you have your account you will see share icon and you will be able to share the URL code by pasting it into you topic.
