Hi
As I mentioned in a previous post my two granddaughters were working on Norm Jones Stirling engine. Rachel is 21 and got hers finished last May -

Natalie is 19 and had a long break between semesters at college (working towards an MD) so she drove 2 hours to grandpa’s place this past week to finish her engine she started in 2014. Natalie had been working on it whenever she could get out to visit - high school and now college keeps her busy. She had a lot of fiddly things to finish along with the graphite piston. She got it all assembled and other than having the timing not set the first try, it took off on the second try.

Another one to be very proud off - and that goes both for Grandpa and the maker :praise2:
I believe that most parents would be proud and I'm sure that it just increases for grandparents
It is also nice to see young people - especially women as they often have prejudice against them - building mechanical objects and even better an engine. Guessing that they like Jo will continue this hobby is probably a bit premature - but one can hope :old:
Best wishes

Very nice. I bet she was excited to see it running too. She must have done a fine job for it to run so well from the start too.

Tell her that's a nice running engine! Quite an accomplishment she has here. I haven't made a Stiriling engine yet. Maybe someday I'll catch up with your granddaughter!

What a great runner! I could never get any of my stirling engines to run that well.
