Hello Mike,

Oh wow, that is just too far out. Love that little engine sound.

Have a great day,

Wonder how he trained that doll to drive it?  :)

I bet she has a radio hidden under her skirt

Fabulous model, beautifully made and presented.

I am sure I have seen a casting kit for this engine on sale somewhere.

Can Jo or anyone point me in the right direction.

Thank you Achim

What I need now is another distraction from the Jupiter and Mercedes W165. But you have got to admit, it would be a beautiful engine to build.

Mike, think of it as fast build/light relief from building your other 2 longer term engines ;)

Hi Jo

You have almost convinced me. But.... But after the engine, there is the chassis and wheels

And my good lady gets to do the dolly

Hello Jo

Do you by chance have this casting set in your collection? :stir:

You are going to do the same for the Merc and the Jupiter as well are you Mike  ::)

I don't have that one yet but someone is recalculating how long it should take me to make all the model engines in his casting collection based on the progress on the No 1 and he reckons he needs more casting sets   :pinkelephant:

Mike I have seen a 1:1 scratch built one on the same forum if you really want a challenge :LittleDevil:

As I have said in other threads buying from Torsten can be a bit of a pain and I'm sure Jo would not want to pay the extra fees onto of the list price.

No more castings for me for a while as I have a new machine arriving soon that I need to accommodate and learn how to use as it has no handwheels :naughty:

Hello Jason,

Can you please enlighten me as to how can Torsden be a pain ( I have discovered he prefers to converse only in the German language) and also what you mean by extra fees.

Cheers

Google Translate sorted me out when I bought from him in the past, have a look at this post and the few below

Hello Jason

Conversing In German is not a problem for me.

Thanks for the insight into the bank charge fees, they could add a lot to the final cost.

You could always buy a few other sets to go with it that way the one off fees don't seem so bad when divided by two or three.

Though I thought you may just let the CNC carve it out of a lump of something if you could find drawings or one to measure. His iron is some of the nicest I have machined, very high carbon content which is more like machining the lead of a 4B pencil :) I think the foundry must use oil bound sand as the surface texture is also almost non existant.

.

Ha, ha.  Provide a drawing and press the GO button.  :lolb: :lolb: :lolb::

If only CNC machining were that simple.

Cheers

I have been talking to Torsten using Google translate and he always answers promptly. Bit of a delay in getting castings though. Nevertheless he posted me a full set of drawings in advance of any payments while I wait for the castings..
