Title: Model engine on EBay
Post by: stevehuckss396 on August 17, 2014, 02:16:16 AM
I just saw a new posting on Ebay. Someone is selling a water cooled version of the Cirrus inline 4 cylinder. Looks to be the 1/4 scale but you might want to ask.

What do you suppose the reserve is on this?

Hard to say. The Glenn Ried auction was earlier this year.

Holt tractor engine - $6,875

Offenhauser - $5,625

Another Offy - $3,500

V8's were anywhere from $4,000 and up.

If this helps you gage what the Cirrus might be worth, or at least worth to you. If the reserve is higher than what it's worth to ya, walk away.

That's a good deal for the buyer if it is a good running engine.

Highest bid was $710, reserve not met so not sold.
