Title: New guy in Las Vegas
Post by: xo18thfa on July 24, 2012, 04:48:18 PM
My name is Bob Sorenson, live in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.  My primary interest is Gauge 1 live steam locomotives.  Built three that run great, one that doesn't run at all, and four still in progress.  I also like stationary live steam and hope to get back in that someday.

The shop equipment includes an Atlas 6" lathe (primary), Grizzly 9 x 19 lathe (secondary) and an older Grizzly mill/drill.  Also have a Harold Hall homemade TCG grinding table, basic dividing head and boring head.  Another project on the bench is a George Thomas Universal Pillar Tool.

I also came over from HMEM.  Don't like that way that went down.  I am on another "hobby blog" where the owner basically got out of the hobby and just runs the site as a business.  It's just not right.   These kinds of forums have to be run by hobbyists for hobbyists.

A number of the HMEM "old timers" are here now.  That's good news.  Look forward to seeing the fine work again.

vr Bob
