In this section of the forum we have threads that help people with problems to do with specific engines. As we don't all look in on the forum as often as some and many builds may have happened before MEM, I thought it might be useful to turn the tables and get people to list what engines they have built. So that members could send them PM's with a :help:
I suppose I should start, with my engines and any known features :-\
Atom Minor III - Westbury
AHC Diesel - Motor Boys International (Ken Croft)
Calorific Gauge 1 Stirling locomotive - Roy Key

Other than Caloric (Gauge 1 loco which ran but did not have sufficient to power itself along = it was a stationary engine) I have left my vehicles off the engine list ;)

Hi Ladies and Gentlemen,
Well here goes.
Sure would like to see photos of the Ford 300 inline six engine.

The ford straight 6 Is an amazing engine. George has done a fantastic job with the drawings. I'm in the process of building this engine from George's plans
-
Wow. Just wow. I did a search and found the scale Ford I6 here:
http://www.modelenginemaker.com/index.php/topic,2295.msg37648.html#msg37648
George, I doubt I'll ever have that level of skill, much less the sheer sized of unmentionables to take on that build. FWIW, I own the last F150 model pickup that had the I6 engine (1996), and it's now old enough to go off on its own, soon to be sold or traded in for a younger model.

There are Ringbom engines, a free piston motor, an ALPHA two BETA and the rest are GAMMA motors. Three flame lickers, own design. A number of little wobblers(steam).

This a very interesting exercice !
much more easy to do now with the hudge amount of pictures i took while building engine.
for many of my earlier engines I only have memories and some plans on notebooks!
a large part of my engine are now sold...
but I have pictures on my Google album and/or video on YouTube for all those below!
Gauge 1 live steam locos :
020T "Juliet" by LBSC plan; pot boiler, alcohol fired & slip eccentrics.
030T "chingford express" from LBSC plans, but internally alcohol fired & SE
031T "8:35" an internally alcohol fired loco with Joy's valve gears, from scratch.
16mm narrow gauge live steamed locos:
030T MTVS tram lookalike, with Hackworth valve gear
030T slip eccentric, pot boiler with alcohol burner.
E Glaser's "cracker" oscillating engine, gas fired, 3 of them
Gauge 0 live steamed :
J. Senft "dickins"; oscillating engine driven loco with alcohol burner, 2 of them
Scratch built :
020T toys like loco with wobbler engines & alcohol burner, 5 identical locos (but the colour!)
021T oscillating engine, internally gas fired.
many old toy locos rebuilt from wreck (Bing, Bowman, Mamod)
Stationary engines
Stuart D10
Stuart H10
ET Westbury "Vulcan" from bronze castings
Large Radiguet like vertical engine, from iron castings.
A large boiler for it, salvaged from iron scrap.
A tiny 0.55 cm3 single acting piston valve engine with boiler from scratch : 4 identical engines
IC engines
all engines : spark & points ignition, petrol fueled.
7cm3 vertical engine 4 stroke OVH valves, air cooled from alu castings
"Cobra" vertical 7cm3 flat head 4 stroke, air cooled. alu castings
Atom, vertical 7cm3 OVH valves, 4stoke, water cooled, Al castings
"Bourdon" 8 cm3 2 stroke engine, not a fine runner...yet !
"Gearless" :A 10cm3 4 stroke vertical engine my own design with a gearless mechanism for exhaust valve from scratch and home casted parts.
in progress, 4 stroke inline 4 cylinder engine (=4x7cm3), flat head, air cooled, 2 engines about half way from completion.
auto-ignition engines,
"nano" : 0.1 cm3 diesel engine from R. Gordon Model Engineer plans.
"Topsy" : 0.3 cm3 diesel engine, plan of G. Hugh.
"Etheromane" 1.9 cm3 diesel from the plan of Gems Suzor (the only true runner in fact !).
hot air engine
flame gulper from a popular science plan.
flame gulper own design, scratch built with a "poppin" like valve, 2 engines, fast runner.
Stirling engine from popular science plan.
Stirling engine from the plan "Fizgig" by FC Collins, 2 engines with minor differences, a great plan.

Ok,
I do have a couple to add. I don't think I've seen these yet.
Hamilton Upshur based vertical single. Modified to give more cooling, and ball bearing crank & cam shafts with a 3 piece crank case.
Brian Fairey based VAL. Once again given more cooling and matching square cylinder. Using a two piece crank but otherwise mainly built to prints.
Considering what to build next?

Sorry no photo, but many years ago I built the "Visible Aero Engine", basically a P&W R-1340.

There are some very impressive lists posted here. My list is quite short, but I hope to grow it over the next few years. I hope that more pictures will be added.
(2). Thayer School Stirling Engines
Stuart D10 with reversing
Stuart 10H
Stuart 5A*.
*The 5A build was started by my father shortly before retiring in 1982. A few castings were from Stuart, the rest was designed and fabricated by my father. Age caught up with him and many mistakes were made in both design and machining. He gave up on the engine in 1990 and gave it to me in 2010. It sat in pieces until 2020 when I decided that it was time to either finish it or scrap it. Most parts had to be repaired or replaced and the cross head, standard, pump, base and bearings had to be redesigned, (my father had warned me that these parts were not well though out). The resulting engine is something that I treasure. We didn’t have many father and son projects. I wish that he could have seen it run.
I don’t care much for blue engines, but it was my fathers favorite color and he had already painted some parts a light blue. The dark blue is my compromise.
The Reeves Unicorn and Stuart 7 were machined and built by my father. He also built the ship model which I recently restored. He was highly skilled.
