Sounds unlikely but this website https://www.eileensemporium.com/ (https://www.eileensemporium.com/) has some useful materials, ba fasteners, springs and other hard to find bits and pieces.  Postage costs also seem very sensible,

Yes Eileen's Emporium has a lot of things for the modeller of all sorts. I have used them quite a lot over the last few years and find their service to be excellent. It's worth signing up for their news letter.
