Superb result 'kendo' - some excellent and careful machining there complimented by a very nicely produced display stand  If it runs as well as it looks then I guess you are well pleased with the outcome.

That's a pretty little engine, very reminiscent of the Morton 5 cylinder radial engine from the 1940's, except with only the three cylinders.

It was always intended as a static display but I did run it a few times to show friends.

Here is a very brief run  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjXc10mmGx8

Unfortunately I can't see the video  :( Did you use the embed function? If it's a YouTube video just pasting the URL works.

That runs well, makes me wish I had not given my set of drawings to someone else.

You may of noticed the carburettor is at 90 degrees , it should be at the bottom but it was
dripping fuel and there did not seem to be enough venturi  to draw the fuel up.

Nice work!

I was also going to ask about the carburetor.
One of my engine friends is currently building one of these; he is working on the rocker arms and has the majority of the engine machined.

Kendo,
Great job on the Pip radial. Very nice job on it, and on top of it all it runs great!

Very pretty engine!  And it runs well too!
I've never made an IC engine (yet!) but they look quite difficult to get running based on what I read about here.
Well done!

The tank is quite high so that could explain the dripping. If it won't suck then a smaller dia carb or a sleeve inside the existing one will increase the air velocity which created a higher vacuum

That runs really nicely 'kendo'  and starts readily too. Like Jason I had the drawings when published in Model Engine Builder - have a sneaking feeling I parted with them sometime ago too  ::) Damn!
