Title: G Boley lathe
Post by: Bjorn_B on August 24, 2015, 05:33:59 PM
I stumbled upon this G Boley (size 2?) some years ago, sadly the slides where gone by then. But I have the motor and switchgear here somewhere (Dahlander 2-speed motor). The tailstock and spindle sems fine. I have no chuck or collets either. Been thinking for all this time what to do with it, bed seems fine.

Ideas?

Keep an eye out on eBay or the local equivalent. Bits do appear from time to time.

Been looking for years, perhaps i could make the slides.. other suggestions? Have thought about how to mount some sort of grinding aparatus on it for grinding shafts between centres (small gas turbines)

I took a look for this one in the usual location.

It is a Boley size 2 for sure. It has a 65mm center hieght lathe so you might check for slides for a 50mm watchmakers lathe. The triple slides made for a watchmakers lathe do not have much room from the top slide to the center so with the extra room you will be able to use a larger tool holder.
