Title: A Domestic Job
Post by: Roger B on May 21, 2020, 06:15:09 PM
My wife is doing some knitting with our youngest granddaughter. The required 8mm needles were too long for easy use so she asked me if I could shorten them. After a little thought I drilled through the heads with an 8mm drill until they came off, shortened the rods and glued the heads back on. A satisfied customer  :)

Hello Roger,

Hang on to those 8mm plastic offcuts. They may become useful one day.

A good result.  I find it's well worth doing this kind of job as it helps to justify my latest tool purchase.

Hi Roger, good to know now, how to get some plastic tube easily.

Not all knitting needles are plastic  ::)

Personally I use circular knitting needles (a long piece of round plastic with short steel needles on each end)  as I find normal needles a bit long and they get in the way.
