I️ have received this electric motor from my grandfathers estate and it is very intriguing to say the least. I️ have been unable to figure out what type of electric motor it is. As seen in the photos it has two electric coils and a fly wheel. After oiling it upI️ tested it out with a D battery and it works. I️ just want to know how many volts I️ should be using and what type of motor it is. Any information would be very appropriated. Thank you

It kind of looks like it could be a Hawekotte and Klausmann Motor. They were educational models made in the early part of the 20th century. I think they were intended to run on a number 6 dry cell.

Looks like it would make for a nice model as well, then you could display the old and the new side by side :)
