Title: Electrakeen branded model makers mill
Post by: bob ward on April 17, 2018, 12:03:09 AM
I've just acquired this cute little model makers mill, it has a built-in 8" rotary table, all very upmarket. I've done the googling, looked on lathes.co.uk but I can't find any background on the mill. I'm thinking it was made in the 1950s and it was aimed at the well heeled model maker, does anyone know more? More pictures here, go to post #2146.     http://metalworkforums.com/f65/t140510-todays-tools-gloat/page-144

Here's hoping the picture attachment thingy works.

Its based on a Mk 3 BCA which someone has taken off the lovely two speed beautifully balanced three phase motor and made up a huge bracket and put a single phase motor on it. It has 6 slots on the table  :noidea: normally the BCAs have 4 and other copies 3.

Sorry can't help more as I cannot see the pics on the other forum.

I think the label indicates it was sold in Auckland, New Zealand.

It is now mine :) has been for a while some photos of it still when Bob had it on the back of his ute and some of the cutters which came with it. :cartwheel:
