Title: 1890's navy duplex steam pump
Post by: tghs on February 01, 2020, 05:59:11 PM
my current project will require a 1/6th scale duplex steam pump, good photo's of the pumps are available,, I have both cole's and BVB duplex pump plans,, scaling out the pump put the model at about  2/3rds of the coles,, 1/2" steam cylinders and 3/8" pump bores.. small but hopefully workable (southworth had one in this size range),, looking at 3 main parts, base section-steam end and pump end.. getting and keeping  alignment the tough part.. thinking about a common casting for the two ends with a sacrificial joining section,, that way all bores should be in alignment using a mounting plate as recently done on another project here,,,, the bottom side machined flat with a slight groove the will match a ridge on the base,,  the cyl/pump casting looks like a master for sand/clay should be possible..  all comments a welcomed to help in the planning,,
