Hi all.
I made my self a new boringhead for the Aciera F3.
The F3 have not so much "daylight" betwin the table and vert. head so I made the boringhead with 15mm(largest collet I have) stright tang. but first I had to make small 45* dovetailcutter. I was a little bit worried if it would hold up but it did just fine, even the boringhead was made out of som mystery SS steel. I scaled down the plans from Mr Ishimura( Nifty Amigo)
Here are some pics. First from making the cutter.

And here are the "Female" finished :LittleDevil:

Very well done CS
Two questions if you don't mind...
Does it have a gib strip between the locking screws and the dovetail ? - I can't see one, and if the screws are acting directly on the dovetail, they are going to damage it - unless you overcame that problem in some other way...
What thread pitch did you use for the leadscrew ? - I'm assuming it's metric as you're from Europe.
Kind regards, Arnold

Hi again.
Vince: your welcome ;)
Arold: I use inserts in front of the bolts filed to 45 * the two outer acting as "gibs* and the centerfor locking.
I made the adjustingbolt with M10x1threads. But if I have to do it over I would have used M 10x0.5 pitch.
Here is a better pics. that's show how small it is.

Very slick CS, I like it. A perfect size for those smaller holes. Arnold already made the inquiries that I had so I'll just say "great job"
