Title: Building under treatment
Post by: steamer on April 10, 2020, 06:03:24 PM: Today, Ava my daughter was down....All she could see is months of torture for her Cancer treatment, not being able to finish school. Now a while ago I picked up one of Arthur Deklabs little wobbler casting sets as a father daughter fun time. Lets get out of the rut and make some chips kid?!
So we did! Good times I love the angle vise Cletus!

Post by: steamer on June 30, 2020, 02:32:49 AM: Well She's home from Boston Children's Hospital where she received her bone marrow transplant. She was there nearly 5 weeks......so she's very weak, and won't be in the shop for some time to come, but her blood counts looked fantastic today, so ….so far so good. She still has 3 weeks of radiation to complete, but the prognosis is very very good.

Watch this spot..... :lolb: in about 3 months.....

Got the results today.......PET SCAN NEGATIVE!!!!! :cartwheel: :cheers: :DrinkPint: :ThumbsUp:

Being 17 and beating it twice.....Grand master level Badass.....

One final leg of treatment is radiation for 3 weeks 5 days a week...for "clean up" in the area where it all started.....BOTH times!

The first time she was 13.....she's been clean for 4 years....but it came back with a vengeance....luckily we found it in time....we almost didn't!

The bone marrow transplant was the scariest. While in progress, your immune system is pretty much nonexistent....bad enough in normal times.....terrifying otherwise.
