How does the fuel get out of the tank if there is no air hole? Doesn't that create a vacuum that will prevent fuel escape?

The heat will travel back the copper pipe and heat the spirit, creating more pressure.
So if you only partly fill the tank you have the air preasure rise enough to empty the tank.
But if you drill the hole all the preasure will escape that way and no usefull burn - as far as I can see.

I will admit that I have no clue on how much the air to fuel ratio in the tank should be.
