Title: Kaiser Thinbit tooling, where to buy in UK

HI,

I have been looking in to solutions to cut some external and internal acme threads. I have a range of sizes to cut. Starting with the smaller sizes to make replacement parts and some new tooling I'd like to build. The external threads seem to have a bunch of options available, but for the internal less so. I'd prefer to screw cut the internal threads rather than make taps if it is viable. Ideally I would like an insert based solution, but I have not found one. The only solution I have found is part of the Kaiser thin bit range:

I have struggled to find a dealer for this in UK and some of the other thinbit tooling looks interesting. I've also been in contact with greenwood tools and they had no solution either. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I know that alternatively I can grind up a tool from a blank. However I'd prefer not to if I don't have to.

Hi Steve, the Horn system should be available in UK.
Here at page A91 the imperial threading starts.

But unortunately ISO/DIN 103 only and no acme at page B15.

Hi,

It would be great to get a tooling solution that had options for metric trapezoidal threads as well. I have mostly old English iron but I do have a Schuablin 13 that although in good condition for her age one day I'll need to attend to some of the wear. Right now I need ACME.

Try www.shop-apt.co.uk they seem to do both types of insert in same range.
