so its time... judgement is upon me i must show you my first and admitdly feble atempt at a engine :noidea:
its a simple osolating engine thats made from bar stock mostly aluminum.
it took me about a week of fiddling with leaking cylinder heads and sticky pistons to make her run but its there now!!!!

Welcome aboard! Looks like nice work on that engine. I have yet to finish my first design, and it certainly won't be as nice looking as that! What sort of machine tools are you using?
-
thanks
i made this one on a emco lathe of un known origin and machines like its made of toffie and a emco lathe that has a head bearings that feel like candyfloss wraped in bacon if you take more that a millimeeter cut! i cant wait till my dmg is fixed!!
rant over haha

That looks like an excellent first build  The first engine always takes time to get to run (and also the second, third.... but the time does get shorter ;))
Emco s are very good machines made in Germany or Austria. 1mm is a big cut on a hobby machine and it might have not been helped if you had a tool that had been ground for cutting other materials. But the finish looks excellent.
So do we get a video of it running?

Looks good. First builds are really exciting when you get them to run. Even if it takes some fiddling. Keep up the good work.

Thanks
Here as today's efforts in the former of a valve body and the start of a top plate
And some odds and ends from past projects

Nice looking parts.
A friendly tip from an old computer guy who once used a 300 Baud modem :old: : Some people may not have a high speed connection (and mine seems slow, probably recovering from severe thunderstorms) and a large file like this (3 MB) may take a long time to load (it took about a minute on FIOS). It is considered good practice to resize images to about 800x600 (about 200 kB) so they pop up quickly, and resolution is still quite adequate. ;)

No problem notes taken

Very nice job for a first engine.
