Title: 1885 Forest & Gallice Marine Engine
Post by: Dave Otto on August 31, 2019, 11:45:29 PM
Hi Guys

Well my buddy Max has been busy in the shop again; this week he was able to start his Forest engine for the first time. This engine is from some of the last castings that Maury had left.
Still some fine tuning to do along with paint and a display base, but needless to say he is quite happy that it fired right up and runs pretty darn good too.
I will post some pictures after he get it finished.

Thanks for checking in.

Dave. please congratulate Max on a GREAT job. I hope he is doing well. It makes me feel so proud to see another one of my kits being completed so beautifully. It runs and sounds exactly as it should. Has he tried to run it in two cylinder mode, and reverse yet?

For those interested, there should be a build thread I posted somewhere on this board several years back.

with that wonderful sound the proper stand should be a boats hull :NotWorthy: :NotWorthy:  if I just didn't have so many started projects in the works.. that would be my next choice though..

Hi Dave, Max has done a superb work again.
Pleasure to see it running and to hear the sound.
I am also seeing an old fishing boat entering a little harbor in my fantasy.

Thanks for all the nice comments guys, the engine is breaking in and continues to run better as it loosens up; I will get another video in the future.

Zephryn, this engine is a model of the 4 cylinder marine engine, not the compound; if I understand your question correctly. I have attached a drawing similar to this engine.
The full sized engine is in a museum in Paris if I remember correctly. They also have the compound engine on display.
