That is pretty amazing.

I see you have some wooden toolboxes - are they the Grizzly ones (I noticed the mill) - what do you think of the boxes? I was considering getting a couple.

Very nice shop and plenty of room to boot. I like your assortment of tools and lathe. Looks like you restore cars in there as well.
I have one of those clock maker lathe, is it an American Clock makers lathe? And how do you like your Grizzly mill?

Thanks Don. I think that's what it is. I got it from a friend of mine and just got it out so I could start thinking about cleaning it up. For what I have done with it so far the mill is fine. Added DRO, but I wish it was vari speed. I hate changing belts.

I have a mill just like it that I just bought. I ordered the DRO'S from there manual and they wher the wrong ones. So had to send them back and waiting for the new ones. Did you install it on the knee or the quill?

Mine are magnetic from DRO PRO. Installed on knee. Kinda wished I had gone ahead and got 4th axis for quill.

WOW Eric.  Now I've got some shop envy.

Is that a Dodge Charger in one of the photos?

Thanks Vince. Actually it's a '66 Mercury Cyclone GT. A friend gave it to me for helping him one weekend in '76. He bought it new before he went to Viet Nam, so, I'm the second owner. Glad he got to come home.

Hey Propforward, just noticed I missed your post. Sorry bout dat . The boxes are Gerstner and they are flea bay purchase. Found out after they arrived that they were hobby boxes and not tool boxes. They work ok for the$$$ but I think the tool boxes from Grizzly would be a lot better. Drawer depth is probably my biggest issue. I have SouthBend wooden collet storage from Grizzly and they are real nice.

That's one nice dog house, and it's great he (she) lets you use it for your stuff too. I notice the dog even keeps a few cars to chase when it wants to.

Now ask the nice doggy if you can put a couple more lathes in there.   ::)

Yeah and every now and then he will use them for something else :mischief: :mischief: :lolb: He would have a whole lot more luck with our CEO(SWMBO) in the lathe dept. Than I would.

Lots of cool stuff you have in there Eric. Love the whole set up. What's the cool mantique looking light near the entrance?

Love your vintage Southbend. Regarding your mill, you could always put a 3 phase motor on and run a variable frequency drive. That's what I'd do, in fact I already did  :naughty:

Cheers

Thanks Steve. The area on the right under the yellow light is a fake '50's-'60's style drive- in burger joint.
When something happens to this motor (like a good deal on a Bridgeport) that would be the way I would go.
