Hello,
I would like to show the first engine I built.
I've designed and built only with an electric drill and hand tools.
This is the first time it worked, it was the third attempt:

Thank you for your message. I am very happy to be with you.
The vehicle had trouble turning. To fix it I built a spread.
Changed rear traction and steering axis front.

Hello,
As weighed 21lb lacked strength.
I changed the cylinder 1/2 "to another 5/8". The power increase is remarkable.

This project has helped me to learn. When I did not know how to weld, I've never seen an engine, only in photos. The experience has been rewarding.
I am currently building a bigger boiler, I hope it has improved. When the show's finished.
Learned what I am building a 2-cylinder engine. I will create a new topic in "Design Your Own"

I have prepared all the pieces of the boiler and have welded copper rod phosphate one of the bodies.

Wanted to make sure everything was fine doing a pressure test with water. To pump the water to the boiler I made a non-return valve and a cylinder with a piston to inject the water (build another non-return valve and fabricate pump) to try to fill it with water and placed a pressure gauge, to push strongly reaches 12 Kg / cm2.

Tapé all the holes in the boiler, fill with water taking care not to let air in, put the check valve and connect the "syringe" giving pressure to the 13Kg./cm2. There is a small leak so I've reviewed the welds and will try. The end caps are slightly deformed due to pressure but have held up well considering the boiler worked to a maximum of 3kg/cm2.

I do like your double boiler. Here is mine, bigger at 63mm tube with 28mm fire tubes so I could get a low centre of gravity.

The boiler is copper tube 1.5 mm. thick.
In the last picture shows just a body. When you finish the other body will unite.

Juan, do not worry about not understanding some of my last post, lost in the translation I guess.
Difficulty getting photos as the boiler is in a boat. That is the reason for the twin boiler as I need the centre of gravity as low as possible. I do have another boiler of strange design which was fitted to this boat before. I will look out some photos of this and post later . Hammer

I know that boiler, it's in the Harris book, but can't think of its name. How does it go in comparison to more conventional types? I'll have a look at the build log when I've got a bit more time. Hugh.

I must apologise to Juan for invading his site.
Hugh, Mister wedge designed the original boiler & it takes its name from that, Wedge Boiler nothing to do with shape. The reason for the new boiler was to get the centre of gravity lower. The other disadvantage with the wedge it needs a good supply pump, not connected in the video so hand pump in use. See running here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtMKpGHblHc

They can post whatever they want, I do not care, it's a compliment to me, thanks.
Can not imagine what it cost me to make welds with copper, because of course my lack of experience, but has helped me to begin to control things a bit.
Soldiers and the two bodies leak I proceeded to unite them and to have them pressure test to 10 Kg
So much was clear but had not thought beyond, after thinking many hours I got to work with the smoke box and subsequently the home.

As for my wedge boiler I did fit a pump driven off the paddle shaft. With a bypass valve fitted. But I was given 200mm of 60mm copper tube, so I have built a twin tube boiler similar to yours. Mine if a fire tube as opposed to a pot boiler as yours.

Also it changes the transmission ratio of 3: 1 to 2: 1, even more can be decreased for speed.
