I don't know why I didn't think of this years ago. I sometimes need to use my arbor press or vise to press a shaft out of a bearing or tight hole. In the past I always just grabbed a screw with a smaller diameter than the shaft and used that in my arbor press. However, trying to hold the part and the screw keeping everything centered over the table required more hands than I have. Today I realized a neodymium magnet or 2 would do a dandy job of holding the screw on the arbor press freeing up both hands to hold the part and the press handle.

Also works with the vise...

Neat idea for the magnets, just be careful how much load you apply to them as they are very brittle and could possibly chip or shatter.
