Stan can you give everyone an exact date of CF. I plan to attend this year if at all possible. Eager to meet some of you.
Don
-
Setup is friday, April 11,2014. Show is Sat-Sun April 12-13.
-
Spoke with Stan today and just posted this to HMEM :
For those of you who not know we try to set a side some table space and set up as a group.
So who here is planning on setting up under the HMEM MEM banner and about how much table space you will need.
sounds like we will be setting aside an entire section table loop for HMEM/MEM.
I know Phil usually set up with the Kinzer rough and tumble group and NEMES usually sets up as a group. and Ron ginger hangs with the cnc exhibit area.
No pressure but want to set claim on a reasonable number of tables so we can st up as a group and no one feels left out on the other hand I do not want empty space and others have to struggle to find space.
And please if you want space saved and you can not come until Saturday morning PLEASE let me know so I can save space otherwise any empty space on Saturday morning will be filled in by whoever wants it.

Count me in!..I don't know about a banner......I just got the trip confirmed!....I can try.
-
I will be there and will need maybe half a table. Planning on arriving Friday mid day.
Bill
-
I plan to get there about noon Saturday, and I might bring a few small items for "show and tell". Maybe just a couple of square feet.
-
I'll try to bring something worthy....but I don't have much time to get stuff together.....we'll see. I can keep it to half a table if you'll have me Bill.
Dave
-
I hoped to have something to bring but I have now run out of time. So it will just be a smile.
Looking forward to meeting you blokes.
Jim
-
Works for me Dave! What time you planning on getting there?
Bill
-
Don't know yet....thinking maybe get there Thursday night so I can be there in the morning Friday. Saturday Sunday, and maybe take Monday off to drive back.
That's what I'm thinking at the moment......
Dave
-
Look for the MEM banner. I'll be there on Thurs and wiill grab MEM tables first thing Fri morning.
Also, the early bird grabs the Oliver.
-
Dave, you will likely get there before me then. I am planning on leaving from work on Thur evening and driving part way so I can arrive mid morning on Friday. I will be there Friday, all day Saturday, but will leave out for home first thing Sunday morning.
Bill
-
I Booked the room and got the vacation days. Do I need to register with the show?
I'll be getting there late Thursday, very early Friday.
Staying through Sunday night....leaving very early Monday for the drive home.

I would like to have a place at the table to sit please, and display one small engine.
As you may know, I am making reservations for whomever wants to come for dinner Saturday night, have a few of your down, and ask others to let me know if they will attend.
Mosey :Jester:
Eric, you've been quiet lately, Revenuers show up at your place?

Dave

Me too Mosey, if I hadn't said so already. Sometime...probably Sat afternoon...we should try to get a MEM group photo of all that are there too!!
Bill
-
Suprise, surprise, I'm back. :cartwheel:. Yeah Mosey, I have been quiet lately and that's a damned hard thing for me to do :lolb:. and no, I have the PoPo paid off, Hell, they like good stuff too. :lolb: :lolb:.
If I bring everything I have, I won't need but maybe a half of a table and I'd be glad to have Mosey keep a chair warm for me. I'm planning on making the campground by midday Friday. Saturday I'm planning on having a bowl of beans, some Q , and maybe a little cornbread available at the RV. I'll probably bring enough for about 15-20+, if I run out, you're still welcome to stop in and say howdy. Now, we're dog people and DOG weighs 100lbs., so, if you have dogaphopbia, well, I'm just saying. I think that now Lou's sister and her husband are going to join us (see I had a plan B all along). He's a retired tool maker and now repairs antique clocks. Sherline user, Great guy. ok, I think I'm finished now 8)

I Booked the room and got the vacation days. Do I need to register with the show?
I'll be getting there late Thursday, very early Friday.
No registration needed, just show up and buy the entry button for $10
Dave, I am really happy to hear you are coming, will you bring the boat
-
Oh another Sherline user....he and I will get along well then :)
Bill
-
Whiskey, since you mentioned your dog, I was wondering if I should bring Muttley to the show or leave him at home? There is really no need for me to bring him, and sometimes he has "problems" with other dogs, so probably I'd leave him at home where he'll be fine for as long as need be. Muttley's about 75-80 pounds and I like big dogs, so no problem here. The "Q" and beans sound yummy. Looking forward to meeting y'all!
-
Paul, I am not 100% sure of the rules, but doubt they allow them (other than service dogs) into the expo area. In Eric's case, DOG can stay at the RV while Eric plays :) May be something to consider.

Are you kidding?....it'll be July before the snow bank melts back enough to dig it out!
I may bring the engine though......gotta think on that :headscratch:
-
Ok. I volunteer to do the group picture. I'll even bring the real camera and tripod.
-
I am working on being there Saturday. Depends on how I feel... Surgery the week before.
Eric

As long as it has a self timer Stan...you gotta be in the picture too!!

Gentlemen:

Bill Lindsey
Steamer

PStechPaul
Please update me when you can.
Stan, are you aware they do not take reservations, but an hour before we come we are to call them!?
Mosey
-
Mosey you forgot my wife and I.
Don
-
Yeah, and you better count two more for me. DOG said he would eat in the truck, but, he wanted you to hop curb :lolb: :lolb:
Whiskey

Don, I'm sorry, added you in. Eric, ??? 4?
Mosey

Yup. Lou's sister and husband. That was my "plan B"
Me

Mosey
Neither General Custer nor I worried about the reservation and look where it got him :lolb:
Any waiting time is another excuse to go to the bar.
Fred (the other architect) is in Key Something-or-other
but he asked me to add him (1)
-
What time is dinner?
Still can't say whether I can attend yet but I'm holding onto hope.
-
Unless something upsets the apple cart I will be there this year. I plan to get there 9:00am Saturday. I'll have to pass on the dinner get together; but hopefully I'll run into MEM members at the show.

Messenger bag.
'Z' pin somewhere noticeable.
Someone misplaced my tu-tu. T had threatened me with that. Soon as I find it...I'll see if it fits.
If she did more than move my cheese...I'll need bail.
And by the way...no one answered my question about dinnertime. :(

I'll be the one with Mosey riding on my shoulders :lolb: :lolb: and if that don't work, just listen; you can't this mouth :lolb: :lolb: :lolb: :lolb: :lolb: :lolb:.

Sure sure Mosey. I'll show up at 7...just as you all finish. ;D
Probably leave me the check too.
That is IF you gave the right address.
-
Zee, old buddy, I promise to leave you the check, right Eric?
Mosey
-
Dave,
Who's in charge of the MEM tee shirts? I'd like a large, blue one.
Mosey
-
Zee, old buddy, I promise to leave you the check, right Eric?
Mosey
Who's Eric? And who the h*ll are you?
"Check? What check? Sorry Mr./Ms. Waiter/Waitress...I don't know these people."
;D
-
T-shirts? I remember it being talked about.
Is it happening? Can I get one?
Extra-Large.
There's different colors?
-
Zee, I'm your worst nightmare. Ok, on behalf of Douglas & Co. and Lou and myself, we're kicking in $200 bucks on dinner and drinks. Y'all guys have helped me through some rough times and been more of a bunch of friends than people I grew up with. Lou tells me all the time that I spend more time with you guys than her, she knows better, it's just her "shop ribbing" :lolb:.
Oh, that don't include our tab, Lou likes that real good stuff :lolb: :lolb:
Eric
Seriously guys, THANKS :praise2: :LittleAngel: :praise2:
-
Our pleasure Eric
Now this T shirt thing......what do you guys have in mind?
Dave
-
I think it was Paul who had the idea of using iron on transfers to make tee shirts individually. Have never tried that but probably the only thing there is time for at this point. Not sure how well screen printing would reproduce the logo picture anyway. The admins will have to say if that's ok to try though since it is the forum's logo after all.
Bill
-
Agreed Bill......just wanted to know what the story was.
-
Dave and Bill I had a couple of T shirts printed from Vistaprint. I used the LOGO from the forum and the slogan. My screen name is above the LOGO. I don't know how good they will turn out. I will post picture once they arrive and I should get them any day now.
Don
-
If someone could get them printed, just the text would be great (and easier)

-
Well this is what I had printed for myself. It white T shirt as I was trying to keep the colors of the forum. By the way after I had posted earlier I went and check at the door and there they were.
Don
-
That's pretty nice Don!
Dave
-
That looks great Don.
Eric...I'm fine with just beans...but Thanks!
-
The picture turned out better than I thought Don
Bill
-
Cabin Fever is just around the corner and I finally got around to making a few tee shirts via the iron on process. Below are a few pictures. I put the main picture on the back and a smaller version on the front above the left chest pocket. Turned out far better that I thought it would. Two white ones and one gray one. Don, they probably won't be as durable as the ones you ordered but they were cheap enough to do...$9 and chance for each shirt (heavyweight Dickies from Wal-Mart) and $10 for 6 sheets of Avery iron-on transfer paper. Have them in the wash now so we will see if they exit the washer and dryer ok. If so fine, I'll be a walking ad for MEM at CF. If not, at least I have three new shop shirts :) The other reason I wanted to do them this way was to duplicate the font which wasn't an option at the online place.
Bill
-
If anyone want to try this I am attaching a jpeg of the reversed image required for printing to the transfer paper. For the smaller chest pocket transfer, I just printed four images on one full sheet of the transfer paper and cut them apart before ironing them on. Sorry for the large file size but reducing it may lose some detail.
Bill
-
Bill they turned out better than mine buddy. I like them, mine I could only put images on the front or back not both.
Don
-
Thanks Don, they survived the washer and dryer but I did notice that on the gray one there is a whitish (or lighter gray) box surrounding the logo now, part of the transfer media I guess but it doesn't look bad. For a first attempt, I am pleased but screen printing would still be the best option, just hard to do in small quantities due to the set up and cost of the screen itself. Do you know what process Vistaprint uses?
Bill
-
No Bill, I don't know what process they use. I ordered two and one was printed crooked and I emailed them. They sent me another without questioning, you can't beat that.
Don
-
They look great Bill.
And having a pocket is a wonderful thing.
-
All...I'll be in York tomorrow night at about 6:30 pm. Send a PM...if you are around and want to get together.....otherwise...if there are get together plans....let me know.
Thanks!
Dave
-
Got the Launch engine and the "not so little workhorse" in the truck.....but I still have a ton of polishing to do.
Hope you left half a table for me Bill!...
Dave
-
I'll be there Friday afternoon. We should have a sign-in sheet at the table so we can all see who is there. You too, Eric, :lolb: :lolb: :lolb:
Mosey
-
Dave, you will likely be there before me then. I am planning on arriving around 10-11 AM on Friday, so save me half a table if you will :) I'm bringing the B&S, Rider Ericsson, and four little guys. Looking forward to seeing you there.
Bill
-
My truck is loaded, I will be on the road at 6AM Thursday. I will look for all of you, you should be able to find me mostly at the Mach CNC software table or the NEMES tables.
-
Sounds great Bill! Ron, I'm bringing some stuff, but mostly I want to see the show!.....
Dave
-
We should have a sign-in sheet at the table so we can all see who is there.
That's a great idea! It'd be great to know who's around so I can track them down.
There's one or two I need a word with. ;D
I won't be there until noon-ish or slightly later.
I'm still hoping to be around for dinner but can't commit yet.
Don't nobody disappear on me.
-
Way too late. I have the sign up sheet and the 6' banner in the car.
I'll be there tomorrow ( thurs) around noon.
-
There's one or two I need a word with. ;D
C'mon Zee, in this day and age no one actually talks to anyone. Can't we just trade postings and stay friends? :slap:
Cheers,
Phil

Not to worry. There's great fun in making up. And I'm not talking flowers and choccies.
Naw. I'm the one I'll have trouble with.
"Get it."
"You know you want it."
"She won't mind."
"Go on and get it."
Might be a tool. Might be a hot dog.
The hot dog is the real problem. :(
-
And I'm not talking flowers and choccies. :hellno:
I'm not going to bother coming then. ;)
Someone tell me why I'm going then. :naughty:
Gee Jo. I didn't think you the type. That approach never worked with T.
For T we're talking wine, or a cookbook, or some neat gardening tool, and if I'm lucky...a massage.
For you I thought curry, castings, some neat machining tool, and if I'm lucky...a massage.
Please note the lack of the word 'or'. ;D

As always, Stan, you're the man! See you Friday, say me about 1 square foot of table, please.

I'm getting closer! New York to Baltimore today, being picked up by Phil tomorrow.
See you Saturday.

Its this "massage" word I am getting concerned about :paranoia: I don't even want to ask the who/what question :hellno:
Jo
Just say 'no thanks'. I'm only good for the curry anyway. :(
-
For all my good forum friends going to CF I hope you all have a great time. :cartwheel:
I can't make it as travel is difficult for me anymore :'( but I will be thinking of you while I build toys.
Give each other a hearty hand shake for me and enjoy meeting for the first time or renewing old friendships. Whiskeys BBQ will really cap off the friendship aspect of the show.
Take, and post, lots of photos, not only of engines but each other.

I'm excited to be attending this show on Saturday. The pictures in the other thread show some very interesting tools and equipment. I don't know if they are for sale or auction, but I may want to purchase some things.
I just recently found that my never-used 8" 4-jaw automatic centering chuck will not fit my 9" x 20" HF lathe, so I think I'll bring it with me in case anyone can use it. I'd be willing to swap for a 6" independent jaw chuck. See you tomorrow!
-
Leaving now for Cabin Fever. I look forward to meeting the MEM members.
-Bob

Sorry, I may have missed it, but did anyone post a gallery of photos from Cabin Fever? It's always a pleasure going through those and seeing all the amazing models on display!
