Greetings, I found this video of a hot air engine and I attempting to reproduce it. I have all the materials to start. The main problem is I do not know how to cut a 9 inch large diameter hole in 3/16 or 1/4 plate steel. What is the best tooling and method for the procedure? Thank you for any info received.

A good quality jig saw, the best quality keyhole saw blade and  some patience. My 2 Cent.
Or a good contact to a local water jet, laser or plasma cutting company.

The old fashioned way, chain drill, saw, file (this may be MEM but we are still allowed to work with our hands ) :)

Hi, thanks for the info. I was thinking about it after I made the post and I may be able to fabricate a simple rotatory jig and use me mill. It is nice to have options, thanks again.

If I can get the project to work, I plan to use it to drive a permanent magnet alternator.
