That time of the year is coming around faster than ever! I’m not looking forward to the time change this coming weekend with daylight saving, but it’s sure going to start that Cabin Fever feeling early! If you haven’t already, mark your calendars for January 13-15th 2017 for the 21st Annual Show!
This year we are trying something new with the feature. 2017 will be featuring the famous “Elmer’s Engines”! We are looking for participation, so dust off an old build or fire up the machines and build one to bring along! Exhibitors displaying a feature engine (and there are lots of these designs to choose from!) will receive a ticket for a drawing Saturday afternoon for door prizes! We are looking forward to seeing everyone’s displays, large and small – Elmer’s Engines or not!
We are putting together the auctions for Friday and Saturday. These auctions have been a big draw and a great way to add a little something to your collection or give you a chance to let go of some no-longer-needed goods for the next caretaker! As always, we are on the constant lookout for quality consignments and would be happy to discuss anything you have. These auctions are one of the ways we can manage the show costs and continue to hold this event for all. Therefore, we sincerely appreciate all your support as buyers or sellers! All consignments for Friday’s Auction must be delivered no later than Thursday afternoon. Please call us ahead so we know what’s coming and can advertise your items!
Saturday, we will not have the “semi-silent” auction as in years past but we will have a tremendous collection of Pressed Steel Toys, Erectors Sets, and Standard Gauge Trains! This is a phenomenal group of collectibles and we are looking forward to this cataloged sale. The list of items being sold will be posted on the AuctionZip listing and will be available for review prior to the auction.
We have a pretty full house as usual but if anyone is interested in becoming a Vendor we have some limited space still available. Contact us for details.
As always, if you have any questions please feel free to contact us. We try to have any updates listed on our show website at www.CabinFeverExpo.com. Auction listings can be viewed by following www.CabinFeverAuctions.com. Looking forward to seeing everyone in early 2017!

Jared,
Can't wait for Cabin Fever 2017 and the Elmer's Engines theme is a great touch. If our makerspace wanted to set up a display would that be considered a "vendor" or "exhibitor"? We're a non-profit and would not be selling anything.
Cheers,
Phil
-
Phil,
Shoot me an email if you would to discuss but I'm sure we can work something out. Look forward to having you!
-
Hey Stan, this should be right down your alley. Great idea Phil. Still hoping there may be a way to come this year.

Hey Jared, did you forget my balloons? :(
When he told me about the Elmers Feature I suggested he give every one a balloon to tie on their Elmer engine, so visitors can easily find all the Elmers in the show. I was polishing up my old engine so I could have a balloon.
-
The Elmer's collection will be ready to go. Great idea!
-
I'm planning on going with steamers collection....and I might be thirsty....just sayin Cletus.
Dave
-
Maybe I can get the Comber to work, finally.
-
Got my hotel booked and looking forward to the show. Now the next question. Which elmers engine to build for the show.
Look forward to seeing everyone at the show

Gee guys, y'all sure have started me to thinking about it. If I do make it I'll have to fly in , I'm not RV'ing in Pa. in January :ShakeHead: Dave, if I don't make it, send me the tab; just don't let Vern start ordering that "voting age" Scottish produce :lolb:.
Cletus
-
Ron - I may have forgot to mention, but we are planning to have balloons! ;)
Cletus - there is camping available onsite but obviously electric will likely be the only hookup for you if you decide to RV it.
Thanks all for the interest and excitement!
For those with the engine polished up, I'm possibly looking for some pictures for the plaque and buttons. I have a few options but if you'd like to submit a photo for consideration, please PM me!! Thanks!

Will do boss!....

Hey all - Spread the word! We were recently presented with many of the engines from the collection of the late Ray Hasbrouck. Check out our listings for the auctions for pictures and details. www.cabinfeverauctions.com
We also have some fantastic Sheet metal tools and there will be over 200 model engines of all sorts from manufactured to brilliant one off models. We haven't had this many in the Friday auction for a few years, it's going to be a good one!
Show plans are shaping up well and we are looking forward to another great year. Looking forward to having you all!
-
It is getting close.
As usual, I'll be shamelessly reserving a MEM section.
If you are going to show your work, let me know here and I'll reserve space for you.
It would be helpful to know if you need a whole table or less. (One engine, every Elmer's engine, etc)
-
I will be there. Will bring Joy engine and paddle engine, plus Coventry if running properly. Also Comber running or not.
-
Stan-
As of today, I am good to go this year. The only thing that could stop me is the weather.
I don't need very much table space; just what would be in front of a chair.
My big problem is figuring out a way to display my smallest Elmer engine so that people don't miss it like the last time I was CF.
Thanks.

Put it under large magnifying glass!

I will be there from Friday to Sunday. Save me a spot! I have 2 Elmer's engines, 2 I/C's, and I will be bringing my work in progress Jan Ridders 2 stroke.
Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Not looking good here either, that is the Friday-Sun after classes start on the 9th of Jan. I really hate that they moved it back to January but hope you guys have a blast.

I'm planning on attending Saturday, but I haven't done much machining lately and the only working engine I have is the wobbler I built as a class project in 2015. Much depends on weather, too. I'll mostly be there to see if I can find some bargains on machine tools and tooling, or other items of interest. There was no place for me to set up what I brought last year, and no place to sit at the MEM table. I'll stop by and say Hi, and I can be in your group photo.
I also still have a lot of metal stock from last year. Note that items with colored background have been sold, and not everything is for sale. This is my complete inventory.

I have dusted off 6 Elmers engines, and will be there Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Thanks for the offer to save a space, but I hope to locate one near to the MEM group. Looking forward to seeing everyone. Thanks, Earl

Guys I really wanted to go this year but I don't think it's going to happen. I would be driving and not sure of the weather just wish they wouldn't of moved the location and time. Hoping to go next year.

Road trip!
Don can swing through and get Eric. Then, the two of them can hit Charlotte and get Bill. Then, the three of them can proceed to Cabin Fever. It might end up like "Planes, Trains and Automobiles"; but, at least the three of them would be there.

Dave
-
I had some family ommittment omega up.....sorry boys. Not this year
-
I plan to be there around 12-1 PM. I can bring my wobbler air engine with the generator, and the TigTach that takes RPM and dwell measurements over a Bluetooth link to a tablet computer. Not much else to show and not much time to finish pending projects. Looking forward to seeing the gang again! Any plans for group dinner Saturday evening?
-
Bummer Dave. I was looking forward to seeing you this year.
Stan, we will most likely get there mid-morning on Saturday pending the weather.
I'd like to do dinner Saturday; but, my son has an away swim meet Sunday. I already have heard about waking him up too early Saturday to go to CF from my wife.
-Bob
-
I'll be there between 8 and 9 on Friday. I am working away on my Jan Ridders 2 stroke. it won't be complete, but I hope to have something that turns!
Looking forward to seeing everyone!

I plan to be there, arriving Thursday evening. I have one Elmers engine to bring, and I think I am going to bring the CNC lathe I built last year at the workshop and see if I can find it a new home. I already had one CNC lathe, that seems to be enough. I also have a KX1 mill that I really dont need, but not sure I want to haul them both.
I will probably split my time between the New England group and the Mach software area, but I certainly want to say hello to all the MEM guys. Is there a dinner plan?
-
Dinner? Good idea , Ron.
Last year we went to The Gin Mill.
I'll call today to see if they'll take reservations. If so, I'll reserve for 10.

I will be there to set up Friday morning early. My model is 3 ft tall and heavy. I would like a spot at the end of a table so the model can sit on the floor. I look forward to meeting other MEM members.

I was there last year and it seemed there were no plans for dinner, at least not at the end of the show. Perhaps it was set up for later in the evening for those staying nearby. I'll be driving up and back from Baltimore so I could join you around 6:00 but not if it will be much later. See you next week!
-
Reserved a room at an Airbnb place in Lebanon today. 1 mile from Gin Mill restaurant and 4 miles to expo.

Hugh
The tables are pretty sturdy, and 3' isn't outrageous. My Joy engine weighs 120 lbs. Sitting on the floor might pose a traffic problem.
-
Hugh
If you'll be there early on Fri, shouldn't be a problem. As KVOM said, models on the floor are a potential tripping hazard. It should be fine on a table. I'll drop a reservation sheet on our row for you.
Paul
Last year we kind of decided on dinner at the motel.
Given that the show closes for the day at around 4 on Saturday, 6pm is pretty unlikely as folks have to drive back to wherever they're staying, shower, change, etc. More like 7 with a half hour wait for a table.
-
I'm looking forward to meeting some of you at the show. I'll be at the show Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. My wife and I usually do some antique shopping when we are in that area.
