Title: My Shed.
Post by: bwal on January 11, 2018, 09:15:54 AM
Hi,

Thought I post some photo's of my shed.  Its a sheet metal garden shed about 4.5 x 3.0 m in size on a sloping (unintentional) concrete floor.

Anyone who's been to Australia knows it gets hot down here in summer so I've insulated the ceiling and walls with 25 mm thick polystyrene sheet and then 9 mm sheets of plywood on the walls.  There's also a whirlybird in the ceiling.

I'm in the process of rearranging the layout of the shed for about the 20 th time! I've got one more move in me! Tomorrow or the next day I'm changing it around again.

I need to hurry up and get it done so I can finish my Rotary Beam Engine I'm currently stuck on.

Ben.

Nice shed Ben. At least with a sloping floor everything you drop will roll to one end!

I am envious of all that space Ben!  I'm betting that fan helps out a lot on the warmer days too!!

I've nearly finished the rearrangement.  I swapped the little mill and drill press around then moved all the tables etc.  I did it yesterday afternoon, it was 30 degrees plus in there, was the nearly the end of me! The insulation and the fan does help though.

I'd like more space but I reckon I'd just fill it with more stuff (I probably don't need). I'm actually going to have to sell some of things I don't really use to clear up the clutter.

I've always been envious of the American basements but I wouldn't like to move a lathe or mill down a flight of stairs.

Ben
