For antique engines this is going to be the show of the decade.
Not really a model engine show but you can bet that there will be some models on display at the show. I was wondering if any of the MEM guys are planning on going?
I know Maury, Roland M, Marv H, and I are planning on being there; anyone else?

I am planning on going to see that show. Never been there, looks like a fantastic museum.

I was last there 20 years ago at the first Flame Expo and had a great time; this time it promices to rival any show in the world.
At that time the 600hp Snow was scattered about in pieces, now it is assembled and running in it's own building. The work and projects the musem crew accomplish is nothing short of amazing. Maybe if there is enough interest we can arrange a group picture.

I'll absolutely be there

Dave
I well be there. There well be some really neat engine's at this one.
Bob Nawa and I should be there Tues. when the gate opens. A picture of everyone would be great!

I'll be there on Fri afternoon and leaving Sat evening.
We should arrange to meet somewhere.
-
Well just make sure you all take your cameras ;)
A friend of mine who has quite a few Hit & Miss models from Ireland is making the trip, you may have come across him, signs off as "Dave from the Emerald Isle" Waiting to see what he may bring back.

I know Dave,
Looking forward to catching up with him; along with all the other guys. It would be fun to get a group shot but Coolspring is a huge place and not sure what time or location would work best. I would think meeting at the Susong building might be the best place. This is where all the flame ignition engines will be on display.

Saturday, at noon?

That sounds good to me; I can let Rolland and Marvin know in case they miss this post.

I was looking at the website and was wondering if they will be running lots of their (the museum's) own engines like they say they do on the History day a month later? Never been there, sounds like a great place. Probably will be there Thursday or Friday.

Yes they well be running everything, They have a board up on the main area with the schedule. You won't have any problem finding out the time's.

Jim, are you planning on displaying; or are you just going to look?

Hi,
I went to the fall show and swap meet two years ago. Didn't know anyone there, I think it was before I got very involved in this forum. We combined the trip from Wisconsin as anniversary and family visit. I really enjoyed the CSM. I took lots of pictures which I was able to label because of CSM's great and well documented website.(and lots of time at the in-laws to do said documenting)
It is the busy season at work can't get away now. :-\ Hope you all have a blast.

Bringing the Swan, Brayton and Myrick models as I am hauling another larger engine home. The neat thing about CPM is that just when you thing you've seen it all, it shows up there!

Dave
I am bringing a 5hp New Holland, and a 2hp. Economy that are sold. Well also have a real nice IHC. Tomb Thumb for sale. I well also have a real nice model made from a Air compressor, and a 8cycle aeromotor with the walking beam and pump for sale . Mite throw in a couple more that are collecting dust in the shop. Have to see how much room I have in the truck.
See you all there!!

I don't know why I had been thinking that Coolspring was way over in eastern PA. Looking at a map today, I realized it's a reasonable day's drive for me.
I had already listed the museum as an eventual must-see, but looking at the list of rare engines for the expo, it seems I'd better start planning the trip.

Hi Tim
Lodging may be an issue; I suspect this late in the game motel rooms will be scarce.
Paul, glad to hear that you are coming; I look forward to meeting you.
Jim, I will look for your engines out in the field.
Everyone; lets plan on meeting at the Susong building, noon on Saturday and see if we can get a group picture.

I figured as much. Still I'll call around and see what's possible.

Be sure to check the neighboring cities; I will be in Clarion Wednesday night then on to Brookdale for the remainder of my stay. One other thing I have learned is not to trust web sites like Travelocity; go directly to the hotels web site and check for room availability.

I made my reservation two months ago and the closest I could find was Dubois,Pa, about a 30 minute drive. Dave is correct. Direct call to the hotel was much better.

To all who are going to Cool Springs and were asking if they were running any of there engines, if you go on Harry's SMOK STAK , and check the postings,
Wayne Grenning has posted the schedule of when things well be running. They well also give you a pamphlet when you come thru the gate.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the pointer, looks to be a must-see event!

Some of you guys were asking about motels. If you go on the Cool Spring's Power Museum web they have all the hotels in area listed
under lodging link. Last I heard there are still rooms available at some hotels near there, but none in Brookfield.
Good Luck!

I found lodging the other night just after I posted. I didn't try to get real close, but close enough.
I'm going!

You may want to have the picture taken on Friday afternoon as by sat at noon, everyone has pretty much pulled up stakes and left. I usually am out of there by noon also as I have a 5-6 hr drive to home. Paul

Dave
I agree with Paul. Jim, Larry and I will be pulling out fri night leaving sat morning from the motel, we have a 8-9 hour drive 550 miles.
Bob Nawa

Friday at noon works for me; I will hang around Saturday and fly out Sunday morning. Is 12 noon ok? or would there be a better time?
Dave

Dave
How about a little later, it looked like Stan was getting there in the afternoon. How about 2pm hopefully everyone will be around by then.
Bob
-
Doubt that I'll make 2pm on Friday. 3:00-3:30 is more likely. Or earlier on Saturday like 9:30.
Also, is anyone getting together for dinner on Friday?
-
Y'all, I will be there Tuesday until sometime Saturday. I'll be setting up in my white 10x10 tent and my white & green sign. WIll have the Swan and the Goulds pump. Stop by and say Hi. Also, I'd like to get together with the group so I'll try to find you too. We are pulling out early Sunday.

I'm pretty flexible; can someone suggest a time that would work for most everyone? Would sometime Saturday be better?
Dave
-
I've decided to leave earlier so should be there by 1 on Fri.
-
Hey guys, having been there several times, by Sat. a lot of stuff has gone home by then. By Sat afternoon the place is pretty well deserted A lot of folks have a long drive home . I well be leaving first thing Sat morning from the hotel, so we well pack up Friday evening. 550 miles .
-
Ok how about 4:00pm on Friday? At 3:00 they will be doing a dedication of the new addition of the Susong building.
Dave
-
I'm in for Fri @ 4pm
-
OK 4:00pm on Friday afternoon it is!
Dave

This was more difficult than 7 teenagers deciding which mall to go to ;D
-
Dave
Sorry we missed the photo after all the work you did and finding us.
Jim and I were in the middle of loading up a 5HP New Holland and moving a 1 3/4HP Economy (both 1:1 scale). Both Jim sold.

Unfortunately I was unable to stay till 4 today, had long drive back home to start.
Amazing show, flywheels spinning and engines shouting in all directions! Seeing that huge Snow compression engine going was incredible. I didnt see all the exhibitors out in the field, mud got too deep in most of those lanes for me. Very impressive place though!
