Title: Tapping Guide
Post by: Arbalest on September 09, 2012, 02:04:14 PM: Just finished making a tapping guide. There are several different designs out there and I'll probably make the double ended one next.
Stats: 12mm & 8mm silver steel, M4 set screw. Overall length extended 102mm, body 62mm, travel 17mm.

Model engineering shows often have small packs of them for sale.

I bought the bottom one to make up a small order for some other stuff. It was so badly made I needed to ream the hole in the body and make a new plunger.

I do have one like you made that I happened to find in a used tool shop....scooped it up! Found out later that it was a duplicate to one done in Home Shop Machinist....I have the article!
