Well I think I will start on a model T coil and see if I have any luck getting it to work next. It's not an engine but it is engine related. I'm sure I'll post some videos along the way.
Well I'll start on that if I can quit playing with the Mini Hog.LOL

Here are some pictures for those that don't like videos. It has aluminum cylinder with cast iron rings and a duel ignition. I made new plugs I was not happy with the first ones I made. They seemed a little long so the new ones are 1/4 inch shorter.

They do look a little longer than a normal plug but other than that, pretty nice.

That is a very neat looking engine, and one to be proud of. Always great to achieve completion with a running engine.
I have been following the words and pictures but often do not have enough internet for the videos. It has been a most interesting project.

They may look ok but hven't gotten them to hold up. The Corian is not holding up to the heat this engine puts out. Going to try some other material and see what I can come up with. The 2 original plugs actually held up the best. These new ones I made only hold up abot 2 to 3 minuts and give up as the corian burns away.

Well I spent the morning trying to find where a lower end knock was coming from. (I had tore it down to powder coat some of the parts) I kept thinking it was end play in the crank and was trying different things to get it to run without the knock. No success, I was almost reading to give up and tear it down again. Then I thought it does sound like the crank hitting a screw hmmmm. I took the 3 screws out of the bushing carrier and there it was. One of the screws was just a tad long and yes the crank was smacking it. Wheew that was a battle.
I also was having issues with my ignition system but after raising the resistance to the coil it seems to be fine. Still need to build a decent box or stand for plus better exhaust pipes.

Doc, a nice looking engine. I built one a year or so ago and it also ran well for only a short time. I think that the problem was that the fuel transfer piece coupling the carb to the cylinder heads was getting very hot and vaporising the fuel before it got into cylinder. I know that some builders have put thermal insulators at each end of the transfer piece to reduce heat input. Did you have to do that? I haven't tried it yet- moved onto next project.

I insulated the carb from the delivery tube but not the delivery tube fro the heads. It seems to purr away now that I moved the fuel tank about 8 inches below carb. Plus it seems the carb settings are not as touchy now. I'm satisfied with the way it preforms now moving on to a better display stand or box.
I would like to use corian for the base but have not found a cutting board large enough. So iI'm going to use a piece of oak and soak it down with a good oil base stain. I hoping to stop it from soaking in the oil she is leaking out. Still waiting for my nickel I ordered to try and nickel plate some things on her.

Hello Doc,
If you have a company near bye that produces this "fake marble" you might be able to pick up a drop piece for free or very little money. Or get them to make one exactly the size and color you want.

I had positioned tank down on the base and it ran good there ( seems to not care to much the height of the tank) but I just didn't like the looks of it. I didn't like the fuel hose going up and around the exhaust pipe so I made a riser mount to put it on. I have a box/stand in the works for the motor just need to get a few things sorted out yet.

Ok have the Mini Hog mounted on its box and got the exhaust tubes nickel plated it's about ready to be put up on the shelve and move on to the next engine.

Amazing job. I'll bet, that the engine that runs so well, deserves it's place in a bike, or perhaps even in a Morgan three-wheeler.
