The annual Stirling Engine Rally is being held tomorrow at the Broomy Waterworks Museum, Hereford. I believe the museum’s engines will be in steam from 12 ‘til 4. I’ll be there with my model hot air engines - Heinrich, Robinson and Rider Ericsson. Please say hello if you come to the rally.

The Hereford Society of Model Engineers next door is having a running day. They have an extensive track and some interesting model engines in the clubhouse.

Just arrived at Broomy Hill 9.15. It's raining heavily, the Hereford Model Engineering Society field is flooded and clearly out of use as is the car park for the Waterworks Museum. So we're sitting in our cars awaiting developments

What a shame I really feel for you all and the Organizers.. :'( :'( I have been in same position,, Belvoir Steam 2008, flood water washed caravans and tents away. Still have a badge "We survived Belvoir 2008"
Luckily we were on slightly higher ground and had about 30 people in our awning slightly drunk but making the best of it. :old: :DrinkPint:

Hi JC, not as bad as your Belvoir 2008 experience, fortunately.
The Hereford MES were out of action for the day but the Stirling Engine enthusiasts put on a show inside the museum, some travelled hundreds of miles as had several spectators eg Kent, Isle of Wight, Chelmsford :praise2: :praise2: :praise2:
Two exhibitors had travelled from Cornwall to show their scratch built Rider engine. As it was large and coal fired it had to stay outside. However they kept it running all day in the rain :praise2: :praise2: :praise2:
