Dunno where it's really from, got it via Pinterest.

The text suggests maybe Germany .. ?

Quite often difficult to get at the source for info ...

Note the Stuart Engine, bottom left, 2nd in ...

The same model engine, here a view from the opposite side.
It is a model of one of the Titanic engines.

Wow!

I'd be afraid of getting all those studs and nuts in, then noticing that there was a missing part down in the middle. Take them ALL out again...!

Hi first name is Karl....last name escapes me.   We conversed back and forth by letter a couple of times about 5-10 years ago.  Nice guy

Yeah all that and a slice of bread!....   That is a model of one of two of Titanics engines.   Harland and Wolf wouldn't co-operate with providing documentation, so he did the best he could with what pictures he could get.   He put in traditional English tail rods on the pistons.     later, when the titanic was discovered and pictures from the seafloor where available, he found out that the original didn't have tail rods... 8)

Anyway....Beautiful model!

and Yeah....I believe he's a member here....so I suspect he'll speak up in a bit.....  8)

Hi Dave,
the Name of the guy is Karl-Friedrich Pohlmann. He has build both engines of the Titanic.
One can be seen in the  "Maritimes Museum Hamburg" here a picture.

The other on was still in his hands a couple of years ago, when I have seen it at a show.
But these Pohlmann engines are different to one at the picture Dave (BLUECHIP) posted.

I just found the old thread.
http://www.modelenginemaker.com/index.php/topic,642.0.html (http://www.modelenginemaker.com/index.php/topic,642.0.html)
So the picture from Dave( BLUECHIP ) seems to be an engine of a ship called "Deutschland".

Well ... These engines just kinda make a guy feel ... err ... inadequate. Good job I already sold the shop and took up using the spinning wheel.

Careful there Tom. Some of those spinners do awesome work.  ;D Inadequacy is always around the corner.
Daughter uses a spinning wheel and it amazes me the stuff she produces.

Yup, they are awsome machines. I just need to learn how to make studs on it.
