And there was me feeling pleased with myself having acquired a set of drawings for the 1/3 Gnome Monosoupape BR2  :embarassed:

That certainly is an awesome project...and I think the builder has just about every accessory ever made for that Bridgeport mill !!  SO who is going to volunteer to take a stab at making one of these :)

Having only got to page two I have now made a conscious decision to take up stamp collecting  :o What a stunning bit of milling  :praise2:

Not sure I needed this right now ( ;))  but thanks Simon

I built my BR2 around 20 years ago fascinating project, loved every minute of making it.
Frightening moment when it fired up the noise was immense, and got a nice shower of castor oil from the total loss lube system.

I have no idea how true this is...
I remember reading a story when I was a kid...
WWI pilots would be affected by breathing/ingesting all the castor oil.
One or more of them...would cut a hole in their seat and try to be over enemy lines when the time came.

[EDIT] Wanted to mention how fantastic that engine looks Mike. Beautiful.

Lovely work Mike - Like the M'c Onie I'm ashamed to admit I have one well under way but also well tucked away and languishing under the bench for far too long.

Tell me, did you have the induction elbows and lower manifolds cast or did you machine them from solid?

Very impressive Mike

Ramon

PS I have a sneaking feeling I've asked this before of someone - if it was you put it down to age  :old:
