Title: Sandown MEX 2013
Post by: Jasonb on December 13, 2013, 04:25:28 PM
For those that won't be able to make it this year I have stuck about 50 photos in an album for your viewing delight, I have even included a few token locos ;)

Album (http://smg.photobucket.com/user/jasonballamy/library/Amberley%2008/sandown2013)

Slideshow of above (http://smg.photobucket.com/user/jasonballamy/slideshow/Amberley%2008/sandown2013)

From the published list of exhibitors I thought things may be a bit sparse but there seemed to be as much to see as last year and trade on most of the stands looked brisk.

The Maker area looked to be getting quite a bit of attension, the wheel pattern and casting that was in ME recently was on show and the results looked good in the flesh.

Would have liked the light levels in the competition room to have been a bit higher and that was not helped by it being a rather grey damp day.

If you were thinking of going then its not too late to visit over the weekend

Thanks for the pics of the Armstrong

That modern poly v drive belt on the R&B looked totally out of place  :ShakeHead:

And Locomotives  there is no hope for you if you feel the need to photograph those instead of traction engines .

Maybe you could rig up something similar with your R&B but rather than generate use the motor to turn the engine over :LittleDevil:

There are some detail shots of the R&B on their way to you and I may have a couple more of the Willy armstrong a swell

Did you guess what that cam grinding machine started life as?

I was planning on attracting someone to have a play with me with the R&B in the not too distant future I think I might just have the incentive to attract him  :embarassed:

Little does he know that I intend on playing R&B with him, I am sure he was hoping for something else, if I get my way we could do both :mischief: and maybe he might like to watch the S&P run whilst he is here :whoohoo:

Would you like me to send you details of my alternative ignition system before you get someone to come and turn your handle  :stir:

Jason,

Thanks for the pics.  I've been in more than 2 minds whether to go or not.  The ME show is but a shadow of its former self but I think I'll pop along tomorrow.

Cheers,

Rod

Thank You for the pics. I would have enjoyed it very much, but it is a bit of a journey from here in Canada. We may not pay to much attention to the distance of a wee journey, but England for a weekend may be just a tad excessive.

Thanks again,

Cheers,

Tom

Many thanks Jason. I had watched the slideshow earlier today while doing a few other things, but didn't respond at the time. Nicely photographed too!
